Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the free AI Text Extraction Platform and related PDF/image tools

Yes. All tools on TextExtraction.online are free to use for standard personal and business document tasks. No paid subscription is required to use the listed tools.
PDF tools (merge, split, compress, rotate, protect, watermark, many converters) and most image tools process files in your browser — files stay on your device. AI tools (image OCR, PDF OCR, speech transcription) must send files to AI providers for processing; they are used for the job and not kept as permanent storage on this platform.
It depends on the tool: Image OCR supports JPG/PNG/WebP; PDF tools accept standard PDFs; audio transcription supports MP3/WAV/M4A (and similar audio containers); image converters cover common formats including HEIC and SVG where listed. Maximum upload size is typically 50MB per file.
Open textextraction.online in your mobile browser. The layout is responsive. On phones, use the menu button to open all tools, and prefer smaller files when processing over mobile data.
For clear images with standard fonts, accuracy is typically high (often above 95% for clean print). Results vary with blur, handwriting, low contrast, or heavy noise. Multi-language print (including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean) is supported by the vision model.
Chinese and English speech are primary targets. Mixed-language audio may partially succeed. Long files use async processing and can take longer than short clips.
There is no hard product cap, but for browser stability we recommend merging fewer than ~20 files at once and keeping each PDF under 50MB. Compress large files first if needed.
Basic compression has minimal visual impact. Higher levels reduce size more aggressively and may slightly affect embedded images while keeping text readable.
Protect/unlock flows run in your browser using client-side PDF libraries. Passwords and files are not uploaded for that workflow. Always store passwords securely — lost passwords cannot be recovered by us.
